During the international Open Access week 2020, we cannot emphasize enough that research articles should be freely accessible. To get there, this requires the research community to embrace the values and practices of Open Science. Bottom-up Open Science Communities (OSC) play a crucial role in this in engaging researchers to learn how to put Open Science into practice, including open access publishing.
Researchers at most Dutch universities have now united to form such communities. To strengthen the bonds between the communities and to inspire colleagues abroad to follow their lead, a collective of OSC coordinators presents an Open Science Community Starter Kit in this Open Access week.
