The Dutch universities and Publisher John Wiley and Sons Inc. have reached an agreement which gives researchers of the universities the possibility to enjoy unlimited open access publication in approximately 1,400 journals of this publisher, without paying publishing charges levied at the article level. The agreement that is covering 2016-2019 also provides researchers and students of Dutch universities access to all Wiley subscription journal content.
This arrangement will contribute to significant growth in open access articles published from the Netherlands. Research from Dutch universities will be even more visible all over the world. This benefits not just the academic community, but society and the economy at large. That is why the Dutch government is very much in favor of open access to academic publications.
