Dutch contribution Open Science FAIR in Athens

The Open Science FAIR (OSF) is a conference about all topics related to Open Science that will take place from 6-8 September 2017 in Athens, Greece. The conference will critically showcase the elements required for transition to Open Science: e-infrastructures and services, policies as guidance for good practices, research flows and new types of activities (disseminate, mine, review, assess, etc.), the roles of the respective actors and their networks.

Data Archiving and Networked Services (DANS), the Netherlands institute for permanent access to digital research resources, organizes an EOSCpilot  workshop titled "FAIR Metrics - starring your datasets". The subject of the workshop is the pilot version of "FAIRdat: the FAIR data assessment tool". DANS has developed FAIRdat to evaluate data sets on a scale 1 to 5 of the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable). In an interactive session, participants investigate FAIRdat and provide input to its further development to put the FAIR data principles into practice.

In addition, DANS participates with OpenAIRE, EOSCpilot, Jisc in the workshop "Open Science Monitor", which discusses how to build a reliable, global open science monitor.

The OSF is organized by 4 EU Open Science projects: OpenAIRE (www.openaire.eu), OpenUP (www.openup-h2020.eu), Foster (www.fosteropenscience.eu) en OpenMinTeD (www.openminted.eu). The EOSCpilot project (www.eoscpilot.eu) supports the OSF.
