Workshop 'Monitoring open access' on 23 May 2018

On Wednesday 23 May 2018, 14 - 17h, DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services) organises the workshop 'Monitoring open access' at NWO, room 300.

How open is Dutch science? How far are we in the ambition to have 100% open access publications realized in 2020? And how do Dutch universities differ? Monitoring open access is crucial to answer these burning questions. However, open access can be mapped in different ways and results depend on definitions, the available data and the accuracy of the data.

There are many open questions, which is why DANS is organizing a workshop on monitoring open access regarding the Dutch situation on 23 May 2018. Different speakers present their methods and there is plenty of room for discussion and exchange:

  • Jeroen Bosman and Bianca Kramer (University Utrecht): Open access monitoring: transparency and independency
  • Thed van Leeuwen (CWTS): Interplay of bibliometrics, scientific community, and science policy in the monitoring of OA publishing
  • Just de Leeuwe (TU Delft): Open Access monitoring of peer reviewed articles in the Netherlands
  • Emil Bode (DANS): Open Access monitoring using NARCIS

Participation is free of charge, but prior registration is required. This can be done via the registration form on the DANS website: https: //dans.knaw.nl/nl/actueel/workshop-monitoring-open-access

On the website you can also find more information about the different presentations. The language of the workshop is English.
